Dr Serena Kuo completed her studies at Victoria University under the Masters of Osteopathy program. She is ecstatic about bringing her passion for the practice and for helping others to the Osteopaths of Blackburn community.
Serena is a lifelong sports fanatic, with a garage full of all the uniforms and equipment she has accumulated over her years of playing everything from netball, to softball and more recently, AFL. Her own journey with recovering from shoulder surgery in the hopes of returning to the footy field has fuelled her passion for osteopathy and goal to help others get back to what they love doing most! This has not only sparked an appreciation for rehabilitation, but also an understanding of the importance of short and long term management goals.
Serena is extremely personable and invested in making sure patients understand their recommendations and treatment plans. She is looking forward to developing strong relationships with her patients, built on trust, empathy and care. She believes that when patients feel understood and empowered, the possibilities for leading a healthy lifestyle are endless!
During the freezing months of Melbourne winter, you will likely see her donning Blackburn Football Club’s famous black and red stripes for their women’s team. In her quiet hours, she is also working on perfecting her paella recipe. Any tips and tricks from other home cooking enthusiasts are encouraged.
Serena is actively seeking opportunities to add to her treatment toolkit. Her additional qualifications and learnings include:
- Level 1 Myofascial Dry Needling and Cupping – Manual Medicine Australasia
- Strength and Conditioning Courses in Upper Body Pull & Push Patterns, Squat Patterns, Hinge Patterns, Trunk Strategies and Single Leg Strategies – Heath Williams (Osteopath/S&C) & Jarrod Testa (Osteopath/S&C)’
