Andelys Warren (otherwise known as Andy) completed her five years of Osteopathic training at Victoria University graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science) and Master of Health Science (Osteopathy). Prior to studying Osteopathy Andelys completed a Bachelor of Nutritional Science and a Bachelor of Health Science (focused on occupational therapy) at La Trobe University.
Andelys is warm, friendly and enthusiastic member of the Osteopaths of Blackburn team and enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions. She uses a wide range of osteopathic techniques when she treats and selects these on an individual basis, depending on patient preference and best patient care. Her previous study in occupational therapy has given her an appreciation of the importance to enable patients to engage in meaningful activities. Andelys strives to provide patients with a thorough understanding of their condition by ensuring patients are well informed of their proposed diagnosis, treatment and management plan.
Her previous experience working with the Australian Men’s Medical Football Team, as well as local football and swimming clubs, has provided her with extensive knowledge with working with athletes at a variety of competitive levels. Stemming from her previous studies in nutrition, Andelys has a developing interest in treating the musculoskeletal components of gastrointestinal complaints and disorders. After 10 years of working as a disability support worker, Andelys is also interested in treating the musculoskeletal components of a range of behavioural and physical disabilities. Andelys has also been involved with providing osteopathic care on a volunteer basis at indigenous Australian health functions as well as disadvantaged community groups. These experiences have given her an exposure towards a wide variety of health concerns and challenging lifestyle circumstances.
Andelys is extremely passionate towards promoting health and well-being and enjoys incorporating her knowledge gained from her many experiences to provide holistic patient care. She enjoys tailoring her treatment and management to suit each patient individually to ensure patients receive the care that is best for them.
Andelys also works as a swimming coach, working with swimmers from junior to national level, and as a sports trainer for a local women’s football team. When she’s not at work, Andelys enjoys socialising with friends, spending time with family, and adventurous camping and travel experiences.
